You will see the terms 'oki', 'oki data', and 'okidata'. On this site, you will see these terms used interchangeably to represent the manufacturer of the products that we sell.

Microline printers: Abbreviated as "ML" printers. These are dot matrix impact printers. Examples are the microline 320 (now replaced by the microline 320 turbo), the ML395 (microline 395), etc.

Impact printers: Another name for dot matrix printers. Okidata ML series (microline series) printers are all impact printers. Example are ML320, ML320 Turbo, ML420, etc.

Non impact printers: Printers that do not use a physical striking of the paper. Okidata okipage printers and okicolor printers are all non impact printers. Also called laser printers or LED printers.

Wide format printers and wide format laser printers: Printers that print to a larger size paper than the standard size of 8 1/2 by 11 inches - also called tabloid printers. Okidata wide format printers are all the LED color laser printers in the C9000 Series such as the C9600 and C9800 printers.
